Guy Loiselle
Biography
After a distinguished 30-year career at Radio-Canada, where he designed television graphics for major programs and national election coverage, the artist returned to painting to reconnect with a more personal and intuitive form of expression. This shift allowed him to move beyond the precision of broadcast design toward a practice rooted in exploration and creative freedom.
His work is characterized by bold geometric structures, strong linear compositions, and vibrant blocks of color that create a dynamic sense of rhythm and balance across the canvas. Each piece reflects a careful interplay between form and color, resulting in compositions that feel both structured and visually engaging.
Influenced by Piet Mondrian and the principles of the De Stijl movement, his paintings emphasize clarity, order, and harmony. While grounded in these modernist foundations, his work maintains a contemporary sensibility, blending discipline with a refined sense of visual expression.
